Preparing For Worship

Leading up to Sunday, September 17

Scripture Passage

1 Peter 1:3-12

Our passage this week speaks of our “living hope.” These weren’t light words for Peter to throw around then –  he was speaking to people who had endured and would endure great loss and suffering because of their faith in Jesus Christ, people who could have easily moved to despair over hope.

Read the passage ahead of our service on Sunday and consider on what things Peter implores us to fix our eyes. Whether you are in the midst of a season of great pain and suffering or peace and joy, have you stopped to consider our “priceless inheritance – an inheritance that is kept in heaven for you, pure and undefiled, beyond the reach of change and decay.” (1Pet 1:3-4, NLT)

Praise God, that through His Son Jesus Christ, we have such a full salvation. Let us be eager to sing our first chorus together this Sunday morning…

All creatures of our God and King

Lift up your voice and let us sing

Sun, moon and stars rejoice on high

Praise to the Lord of light, divine.

Praise the Father above

Sing Alleluia, sing Alleluia
