Preparing For Worship

Leading up to Sunday, June 4

Scripture Passage

Revelation 2:1-7

Reflection

This Sunday we begin a new sermon series titled Red Letters. Over seven Sundays, we will look at the beginning of Revelation and the letters that Jesus asked John to deliver to seven first century churches. While these seven distinct messages are encompassed in chapters 2 and 3 of Revelation, consider reading Revelation 1 for context and the beautiful yet fearsome depiction of Jesus delivering these words.

Revelation is seen as an intimidating book for many reasons. But in these first few chapters, there is simplicity. Jesus, while enthroned in heaven, is also among His church – He sees all, He knows all, and He has strong words of both encouragement and exhortation for His bride. His words are also for us today. Pray that as we study and worship Him these next weeks, we would be encouraged and convicted to be the church that He calls us to be.
