Preparing For Worship
Leading up to Sunday, March 19
This Sunday, we will take a break from Nehemiah and hear teaching from Exodus 33. This passage speaks of God’s presence and the people He comes near. Read the narrative slowly and notice the different characters in this account – Moses, God Himself in the pillar of cloud, the Israelites, Joshua. Take a moment and consider God’s presence in this story and other’s positions around His presence. To whom do you relate to the most in this narrative? Pray that God would speak to you as you read and consider these words from Exodus and even these from Hebrews 3.
Therefore, holy brothers, you who share in a heavenly calling, consider Jesus, the apostle and high priest of our confession, who was faithful to him who appointed him, just as Moses also was faithful in all God’s house…Now Moses was faithful in all God’s house as a servant, to testify to the things that were to be spoken later, but Christ is faithful over God’s house as a son. And we are his house if indeed we hold fast our confidence and our boasting in our hope.
